डेंगू जानलेवा बुखार को देखते हुए

,, डेंगू बुखार मच्छरों के काटने से होने वाली एक दर्दनाक बीमारी है. यह चार किस्मों के डेंगू वायरस के संक्रमण से होती है, जो मादा एडीस मच्छर के काटने से फैलता है. डेंगू में तेज बुखार के साथ नाक बहना, खांसी, आखों के पीछे दर्द, जोड़ों के दर्द और त्वचा पर हल्के रैश होते हैं. हालांकि कुछ लोगों में लाल और सफेद निशानों के साथ पेट खराब, जी मिचलाना, उल्टी आदि हो सकता है. चूंकि यह एक वायरस से होता है इसलिए इसकी कोई दवा या एंटीबायटिक नहीं है, इसका इलाज इसके लक्ष्णों का इलाज करके ही किया जाता है. तेज बुखार बीमारी के पहले से दूसरे हफ्ते तक रहता है.
यह सच है कि डेंगू का मच्छर दिन के उजाले में घरों के अंदर या बाहर काटता है, लेकिन अगर रात में रोशनी जल रही हो तब भी ये मच्छर (मादा एडीस) काट सकते हैं.
हार्ट केयर फाउंडेशन ऑफ इंडिया के अध्यक्ष और आईएमए के ऑनरेरी सेक्रेटरी जनरल डॉ. के.के. अग्रवाल बताते हैं, "बहुत से लोगों को नहीं पता कि डेंगू का मच्छर गंदी नालियों में नहीं बल्कि साफ सुथरे पानी में पनपते हैं. साफ सुथरे शहरी इलाकों में रहने वाले लोगों को इसका ज्यादा खतरा रहता है. बचाव इलाज से हमेशा बेहतर रहता है.

अगर आप को डेंगू हो जाए तो घबराएं नहीं, भरपूर मात्रा में तरल आहार लें, क्योंकि डिहाइड्रेशन से ही बीमारी खतरनाक होती है और अगर डेंगू के मरीज का प्लेटलेट्स काउंट 10,000 से ज्यादा हो तो प्लेटलेट्स ट्रांसफ्यूजन की जरूरत नहीं होती. बल्कि बेवजह प्लेटलेट्स ट्रांसफ्यूजन नुकसान कर सकता है."
डेंगू बचाव के लिए

* मच्छर प्रतिरोधक का इस्तेमाल करें.

* पूरी बाजू की कमीज और पायजामा या पैंट पहनें.

* यह भी ध्यान रखें कि खिड़कियों के पर्दे सुरक्षित हों और उनमें छेद न हों.

* एयर कंडीशंड कमरों में रह कर बीमारी से बचा जा सकता है.

* डेंगू से बचने और मच्छरों को अंडे देने से रोकने के लिए घर में पानी जमा होने से रोकना चाहिए. बाहर रखे साफ पानी के बर्तनों जैसे पालतू * जानवरों के पानी के बर्तन, बगीचों में पानी देने वाले बर्तन और पानी जमा करने वाले टैंक इत्यादि को साफ रखें.
* घर के अंदर फूलदानों में पानी जमा न होने दें और उन्हें हफ्ते में एक बार जरूर साफ करें.

* जिन लोगों के घर में कोई डेंगू से पीड़ित है, वह थोड़ा ज्यादा ध्यान रखें कि मच्छर दूसरे सदस्यों को न काटे.

* बीमारी को फैलने से बचाने के लिए पीड़ित को मच्छरदानी के अंदर सोना चाहिए.

* सूर्य उदय और अस्त के समय व शाम को घर के अंदर रहें, क्योंकि मच्छर इस वक्त ज्यादा सक्रिय होते हैं.

* दीवारों, दरवाजों और खिड़कियों की दरारों को भर दें. दरवाजों और खिड़कियों की अच्छे से जांच कर लें.

कचनार के पत्ते शुरू में जुड़े व किनारों पर खुले होते हैं जो हृदय के आकार का होता है। कचनार के फूल की कलियां हरी होती है और खिला हुआ फूल सफेद, लाल व पीले रंग का होता है। इसकी छाल में टैनिन (कषाय द्रव्य), शर्करा और एक भूरे रंग का गोंद होता है। इसके बीजों में पीले रंग का तेल निकलता है। कचनार का बीज पौष्टित और उत्तेजक होता है

"non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs"
The term nonsteroidal distinguishes these drugs from steroids, which while having a similar eicosanoid-depressing, anti-inflammatory action, have a broad range of other effects. First used in 1960, the term served to distance these medications from steroids.

NSAIDs work by inhibiting the activity of cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and/or COX-2). In cells, these enzymes are involved in the synthesis of key biological mediators, namely prostaglandins which are involved in inflammation, and thromboxanes which are involved in blood clotting.

There are two types of NSAID available: non-selective and COX-2 selective. Most NSAIDs are non-selective, and inhibit the activity of both COX-1 and COX-2. These NSAIDs, while reducing inflammation, also thin the blood (especially aspirin) and increase the risk of gastrointestinal ulcers/bleeds. COX-2 selective inhibitors have less gastrointestinal side effects, but promote thrombosis and substantially increase the risk of heart attack. As a result, COX-2 selective inhibitors are generally contraindicated due to the high risk of undiagnosed vascular disease. These differential effects are due to the different roles and tissue localisations of each COX isoenzyme. By inhibiting physiological COX activity, all NSAIDs increase the risk of renal disease, and through a related mechanism, heart attack.
