We welcomed our patients, their caregivers, peer healthcare professionals and friends and volunteers to Ganga Prem Hospice today to mark the national cancer survivors day.
We had survivors who had been cured, those who were still undergoing treatment, some who were in the advanced cancer stages and family members and caregivers who had lost a loved one to a terminal illness.
Over two hours, there were games, music, songs, therapy, and thoughts exchanged. A tree of hope and wishes had everybody tying a ribbon on it. Some express a wish, some said a silent prayer.

We are so thankful to everybody who supported the day, with their presence, time, or thoughts.

The national Cancer Survivors Day is observed annually on the first Sunday in June. Tomorrow, we will meet with our patients, and their family members at Ganga Prem Hospice over a cup of tea and hear their stories.
For us, all our of patients are survivors, and all their caregivers are towers of strength. 🦋

We've all known the Indian ritual. Standing by a street-side chaat vendor with friends and family, enjoying golgappas and mouth-watering chaat.
We didn't want our patients to miss out on such joys at Ganga Prem Hospice, so our kitchen team organised a chaat-corner of their own today. Golgappas, spicy-tangy-sweet water mix, fresh curd, and chutneys and dips livened up the early evening. Everybody got together in the GPH garden, enjoying, cracking jokes, and laughing at those who had their mouth full of golgappas!

Celebrating the International Day of Families (May 15) a day early at Ganga Prem Hospice today.
The GPH team prepared small chits with simple words: "food", "togetherness", "strength", "laughter", "festival", "journey", "promises", "songs", "pictures", "surprises", "voice", "tradition" and more. Everybody was invited to pick a slip and share a memory or feeling connected with that word.
Some accounts were emotional, others brought about laughter, but each share was touching and special. 🌷💜💜

Congratulations to our star Anjali, who has secured 80% marks in her XII standard board exams in Rishikesh. 🎓

Anjali and her two sisters and mother faced a difficult time after the passing away of their father from cancer a few years ago.
The girls worked exceptionally hard and each one of them excelled at her studies. We are happy to say that Ganga Prem Hospice has sponsored their school education since they were in primary school.

Anjali and her sisters have done their mother and GPH so proud!
