Smt. Tulasa Sahu, aged about 26 years was born with congenital Heart disease. Her valves which supply blood to lungs was squeezed. She went to various hospitals outside Odisha for her treatment but she was not satisfied with treatment for the disease. At last she was admitted at Vikash Hospitals, Sambalpur on 12th july 2023 in consultation with Dr. Laxmiprasad Dash (Cardiologist).
Dr. Laxmiprasad Dash Treated the patient with a procedure called Balloon Pulmonary Valvotomy, which is a Critical treatment and was done first time in western Odisha. In this care Dr. L P Dash and his team operated the squeezed valve with the help of a balloon through a small hole without any surgery on 13th July 2023. Now, Smt. Tulasa Sahu is completely cured to resume day to day physical work in her daily life. After opening the valve with balloon her pressure across the valve was reduced from 76MM HG TO 19 MM HG. The operation was successfully done under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.
