Why Do Some Men Produce Slippery Liquid Before Ej*******on.
The slippery liquid produced before ej*******on is known as pre-ejaculatory fluid (or "precum"). It is a natural and healthy physiological response to sexual arousal.
Its primary biological purposes include:
Lubrication: It acts as a natural lubricant to reduce friction during sexual activity, making in*******se or ma********on more comfortable.
Neutralizing Acidity: Urine is acidic and leaves a residue in the urethra that can kill s***m. Pre-ejaculate is alkaline, which neutralizes this acidity to create a safer environment for s***m to survive during ej*******on.
Vaginal pH Balance: It can also help neutralize the naturally acidic environment of the va**na to further promote s***m survival.
Facts About Pre-ejaculate
Source: It is produced by the Cowper’s glands (bulbourethral glands), which are pea-sized glands located just below the prostate.
Control: Its release is involuntary; most men cannot feel it happening or consciously control when or how much is released.
S***m Content: While the Cowper's glands do not produce s***m, pre-ejaculate can "pick up" live s***m left in the urethra from a previous ej*******on. Studies have found motile s***m in approximately 16% to 41% of pre-ejaculate samples.
Pregnancy & STI Risk: Because it can contain s***m, there is a risk of pregnancy even if ej*******on does not occur inside a partner. It can also transmit STIs like HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.
The amount produced varies widely; some men produce several millilitres, while others produce none at all.
