The Department of Neurophysiotherapy and Department of Community Physiotherapy, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy, PIMS-DU, proudly contributed to community health awareness through informative radio talks at Pravara Community Radio Station 90.8 FM 📻.

On the occasion of World Parkinson’s Day, Mr. Saurabh Pravin Mahajan, 2nd-year MPT (Neurophysiotherapy) student, delivered a talk on Parkinson’s Disease and the role of physiotherapy in its management. Dr. Ankit Patil also conducted an awareness session on Knee Osteoarthritis, highlighting its causes, prevention, and physiotherapy management.

These sessions aimed to spread awareness and promote evidence-based physiotherapy practices in the community.

College of Physiotherapy has organized a Guest lecture on
“Rheumatod Arthritis” on 24th March 2026.
The guest lecture was conducted successfully with active participation from undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students.
Dr. Nitin Ghule delivered an insightful session focusing on both medical and physiotherapy perspectives of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
The lecture began with an overview of the disease, including its autoimmune nature, causes, and progression. The speaker elaborated on clinical features such as joint inflammation, deformities, and systemic involvement.
A significant part of the session focused on physiotherapy management, including:
Joint protection techniques
Exercise prescription (ROM, strengthening, aerobic exercises)
Pain management using modalities
Importance of early intervention
Interactive discussions and case-based examples enhanced understanding.
Students actively engaged by asking questions related to clinical practice.😇

Department of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy, Dr. APJ AKCOPT in collaboration with Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy, DVVPF’S College of Physiotherapy, Ahilyanagar & Department of Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy,TMV’s Jayantrao & Indutai Tilak College of Physiotherapy, Pune organised a one day National Conference on Critical Care Physiotherapy in virtual mode on 18th April 2026.
The Chief Guest for the conference was Dr. Yagna Shukla, Chairperson, NCAHP and the guest of honour was Dr. Umanjali Damke, Chairman, Maharashtra State Allied & Health care Council.
More than 800 delegates participated in this conference.

On the occasion of World Asthma Day 2026, the department of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy had organised an Asthma Awareness and Screening Camp at Gram Panchayat, Kohlar today. A total of 18 students participated in the camp under faculty guidance, and 32 patients were screened. 16 patients were diagnosed with mild to moderate airway obstruction.
The camp included basic respiratory screening , assessment and education on asthma management and breathing exercises.
The camp successfully promoted awareness and early identification of asthma and was well received and appreciated by all attendees.🩺❤️
