Bonds of Support, Strength in Healing 🧵✨
This Raksha Bandhan, our community at We Rise Foundation came together to celebrate a deeply moving moment. Our female residents tied sacred threads of Rakhi on the wrists of our male residents, extending heartfelt blessings and solidifying a bond of mutual respect, dignity, and shared strength.
Rebuilding Broken Ties through Peer Family: Many individuals in recovery experience isolation or fractured relationships with their biological families. Celebrating cultural and spiritual traditions inside a rehabilitation setting helps construct a safe, surrogate family structure that fosters belonging and emotional safety.
Healing is not a journey taken alone. Moments like these remind us that inside our walls, we are more than individuals in recovery—we are a family standing by one another every step of the way.
Here’s to the power of community, compassion, and continuous growth! 🌿💪

A 10k Run and a Substance abuse awareness program was organised by WeRise Foundation, Siliguri and DS TRADER under the Drugs Free Society Campaign. The main objective of the marathon was to create awareness among youth and the general public about a drug-free society and to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Personnel of 36th Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Gyalshing actively participated in the marathon along with local citizens. The SSB personnel conveyed a strong message against drug abuse through their participation and emphasized the need for collective efforts to build a drug-free and healthy society.

The programme successfully conveyed the message of “Drug-Free Society, Healthy Society” to the public.

Giving back, one unit at a time! ❤️🩸
On July 25, 2026, members, patients, and dedicated volunteers from the WeRise Foundation came together to participate in the Blood Donation & Health Camp organised jointly by Himalayan Gym and Greater Lions Eye Hospital.
It was inspiring to see so many generous individuals step forward to donate blood, proving that community strength and health go hand-in-hand. Every drop donated helps save lives and brings hope to patients in need.
A massive thank you to the organizers, medical teams, and our amazing donors for driving positive change in our community! 🙌✨

Drug Addiction Awareness Program - Ghoom Boys School, Darjeeling

On 16th November 2025, a comprehensive Drug Addiction Awareness Program was successfully conducted at Ghoom Boys School, Darjeeling. The event was organised by Darjeeling Police on behalf of CADF (Citizens Against Drug Forum), of which We Rise is an active member.

The program saw an enthusiastic participation of around 200 attendees, including students from various schools in and around Darjeeling, members of the Ghoom Samaj, teachers, local clubs, and community representatives.

Mr. Dhiraj attended the program and also addressed the gathering as one of the key speakers. He spoke mainly about how addiction starts, how it progresses, and the consequences it brings to an individual’s life. He further highlighted the crucial role of families and society in prevention, early treatment, and supporting recovery.

A heartfelt appreciation to all participants and organisers for contributing to a meaningful and impactful session for the youth and the community.
