Healthcare should never be limited by distance. It should reach every doorstep.
Yesterday, I had the privilege of inaugurating a Monthly Medical Camp at Rambhola, a joint initiative of the Association of Physicians of India (API), Siliguri Branch and the Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttarayan.
Through this initiative, we have adopted four villages—Dhuliajot, Rambhola Jot, Singha Jot, and Jharujot—with a long-term vision of improving healthcare, health awareness, education, sanitation, and overall community well-being.
Around 15 specialist doctors came together to provide free consultations, treatment, and medicines to nearly 200 patients. People travelled not only from the adopted villages but also from nearby areas and even the Indo–Nepal border to receive specialist medical care.
This is more than just a medical camp—it is a long-term commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare reaches underserved communities through regular monthly medical camps and sustained rural development initiatives.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to Shri Sukra Munda, Hon'ble MLA, Malbazar, for graciously inaugurating the programme.
I sincerely thank Prof. Dr. G. Narsimulu (Hyderabad), President, API; Prof. Dr. Jyotirmoy Paul (Kolkata), Immediate Past President, API; Dr. Asish Saha (Kolkata), Secretary, API West Bengal Branch; and Dr. R. K. Modi (Purnea), Governing Body Member, API, for their esteemed presence and constant encouragement.
My special thanks to Rtn. Rajeev Ranjan Ojha, President, and Rtn. Gopal Majumdar, Secretary, Rotary Club of Siliguri Uttarayan, for their unwavering support and partnership in this meaningful initiative.
I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to Mrs. Babita Dutta, Headmistress of Rambhola Primary School and a dedicated social activist, who has devoted the last 14 years to serving the underprivileged people of the village with remarkable commitment and resilience despite numerous challenges.
Finally, my sincere thanks to all the doctors, Rotarians, volunteers, local residents, and every individual who contributed to making this initiative a success.
Together, we remain committed to bringing quality healthcare, hope, and a better future to every rural doorstep.
Serving people is our greatest responsibility. 🙏
