Groin pain : while running is commonly caused by adductor (inner thigh) muscle strains, hip flexor overuse, or, in long-distance runners, potential pelvic stress fractures. It typically manifests as a sharp pull or nagging discomfort during movement. Immediate care involves rest, ice, and gentle stretching, with recovery for minor strains usually taking 4–12 weeks.Common Causes of Running Groin PainAdductor Strain/Tendinopathy: The most common cause, involving the inner thigh muscles, often caused by rapid direction changes or increased intensity.Hip Flexor Strain: Strain in the muscles connecting the thigh to the hip, often due to overtraining or improper mechanics.Osteitis P***s: Inflammation in the p***c symphysis, frequently occurring in long-distance or high-mileage runners.Stress Fractures: Femoral neck or p***c rami fractures which can present as groin pain that worsens with weight-bearing and persists at rest.Hernias: Sometimes inguinal hernias can cause pain that flares during physical activity.
Management and TreatmentImmediate Action: Stop running immediately if you feel a sharp, stabbing pain to avoid exacerbating the injury.
Ice: Apply ice packs to the area for 10–20 minutes every 1-2 hours for the first 3 days.
Rest: Switch to low-impact,
non-weight-bearing exercises
like swimming or cycling.

Physical Therapy: Focus on strengthening the glutes, core, and adductors, and increasing hip mobility to fix muscle imbalances.
