Why PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome) is renamed PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) ?

Many doctors and researchers are suggesting that Polycystic O***y Syndrome should be better understood as PolyMetabolic Ovarian Syndrome because the old name “PCOS” can be misleading.

Why the name PCOS is considered misleading

↪️In PCOS:

Not every woman has ovarian cysts.

The main problem is often related to hormones + metabolism, not just ovaries.

Not exactly - it depends on the type of protein you eat.
High purine foods🔴 increases uric acid..
❌ Red meat
❌ Organ meat
❌ Seafoods
❌ Alcohol (especially beer)

Other than this-
❌ Ultra processed foods (chips, bakery items, packaged food)
❌ Sugary drinks
❌ Obesity & Diabetes
These all can increase uric acid in your body

Low purine protein foods are safe🔵
