🎓 Orientation Class for D.Pharm 1st Year | Divine College of Pharmacy
A new academic journey begins with a new perspective, new aspirations, and a commitment to learn.
Today, our Principal Dr-Shambaditya Goswami interacted with our D.Pharm 1st Year students at Divine College of Pharmacy, Siwan, Bihar, as part of their introductory orientation class.
The session was designed not merely to introduce the students to their course, but to help them understand the meaning, responsibility, and possibilities of the pharmacy profession.
💊 Key themes discussed during the session:
🔹 Why Pharmacy? – Understanding the purpose behind choosing pharmacy as a profession.
🔹 Pharmacy beyond the medical store – Exploring the diverse dimensions of pharmacy and the role of pharmacists as medicine experts and healthcare professionals.
🔹 Understanding the D.Pharm journey – How Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Practice and other subjects contribute to professional development.
🔹 Knowledge + Skills + Attitude – Emphasising that professional excellence requires more than academic marks.
🔹 Patient First – Understanding that every medicine ultimately reaches a human being and therefore patient safety, rational use of medicines and ethical practice must remain at the centre of pharmacy.
🔹 Professional Ethics & Discipline – Honesty, punctuality, responsibility, respect, confidentiality and professional integrity.
🔹 Career Opportunities – Community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, quality control, quality assurance, research, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, clinical research, academia and entrepreneurship.
🔹 Communication Skills – A pharmacist must not only understand medicines but also be able to explain them clearly and compassionately to patients.
🔹 Digital Learning & AI – Encouraging students to use technology and AI as learning tools while developing their own scientific thinking and judgement.
🔹 Learning beyond the syllabus – Encouraging students to read, ask questions, explore scientific literature and continuously upgrade their knowledge.
He encouraged every student to dream beyond examinations and focus on becoming a competent, ethical and responsible pharmacist.
The journey of becoming a pharmacist begins not on the day you receive your certificate, but from the first day you decide to learn with sincerity and purpose.
We wish our new D.Pharm students a wonderful and successful academic journey at Divine College of Pharmacy.
