Targeted Intervention Screening Camp on Mental Health was successfully conducted at Sukchar Mini PHC under Gazarikandi BPHC on 7th August in South Salmara Mankachar District.

The screening camp was held in the presence of the In-charge Sector Medical Officer, Psychiatrist from District Hospital, Counsellor, and other healthcare officials. A total of 46 individuals were screened for mental health conditions, reinforcing the commitment to early identification, timely intervention, and improved access to mental healthcare services within the community.

As part of the observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, counselling and awareness sessions on exclusive breastfeeding were conducted across various healthcare institutions in South Salmara Mankachar District.

Healthcare professionals educated pregnant women, lactating mothers, and caregivers on the importance of initiating breastfeeding within the first hour of birth, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, and continued breastfeeding up to two years and beyond with appropriate complementary feeding. The sessions aimed to promote optimal infant nutrition, improve maternal and child health, and encourage informed breastfeeding practices within the community.

The District-Level Orientation Programme on National Deworming Day (NDD) was held today at the Conference Hall of the Joint Director of Health Services, Hatsingimari, under the chairmanship of the Joint Director of Health Services, South Salmara Mankachar District.

The orientation programme brought together the District Surveillance Officer (DSO), District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), SDM&HO (School Health), District Programme Manager (DPM), District Media Expert (DME), District Programme Coordinator (DPC), SDM&HOs, Community Health Officers (CHOs), officials from the DPMU and BPMU, ANMs, MPWs, line department representatives and other healthcare personnel.

The session focused on strengthening preparedness, coordination, and effective implementation of the upcoming National Deworming Day campaign, reaffirming the district's commitment to improving child health and preventing soil-transmitted helminth infections through comprehensive deworming coverage.

A review meeting on the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was held on 06/08/2026 at the Conference Hall of the Joint Director of Health Services, Hatsingimari, South Salmara Mankachar District.

The meeting was chaired by the Joint Director of Health Services (JT. DHS) and attended by the District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), District Programme Manager (DPM), District Media Expert (DME), District Accounts Manager (DAM), Community Health Officers (CHOs), ANMs, MPWs, and officials from the District Tuberculosis Office.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, assessing programme implementation, strengthening case detection and treatment services, and discussing strategies to accelerate efforts towards achieving a TB-free district through coordinated action and effective field-level implementation.

Strengthening routine immunization and promoting healthier communities through supportive supervision and health education.

An immunization session site visit was conducted at Diara Bazar in collaboration with the Gazarikandi BPMU under South Salmara Mankachar District. During the visit, supportive supervision was carried out to ensure the quality of immunization services and the effective delivery of essential healthcare interventions.

Health education and awareness sessions were also conducted for beneficiaries and community members on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, balanced nutrition, personal hygiene, prevention and screening of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), family planning, antenatal care (ANC), identification of high-risk pregnancies (HRP), and the prevention of teenage pregnancy.

Such initiatives play a vital role in improving community awareness, strengthening preventive healthcare, and ensuring better maternal and child health outcomes.
