Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic degenerative joint condition characterized by joint pain and stiffness, often triggered by aging and joint wear and tear. Commonly affected areas include the hands, knees, hips, neck, and lower back.

# # # Types, Symptoms, Causes, Risk Factors, Complications, and Prevention

**Types of Osteoarthritis:**
- Primary OA: Associated with aging and general wear and tear.
- Secondary OA: Results from injury or another medical condition.

**Symptoms:**
- Joint pain and tenderness
- Stiffness, especially in the morning or after resting
- Loss of flexibility
- Grating sensation or clicking sounds during movement

**Causes:**
- Aging
- Joint injuries
- Obesity
- Genetic factors

**Risk Factors:**
- Age: More common in older adults
