*Bootlegger arrested by Police Station Khanyar. illicit liquor recovered*

In its continuous efforts against social crimes, Police Station Khanyar arrested bootlegger and recovered Illicit liquor during naka checking near Kahkashan Hotel Nowpora.

On 03.08.3019 during surprise naka checkingnear Kahkashan Hotel, police party from police station Khanyar led by SHO Khanyar Shri Parvaiz Ahmad
arrested one bootlegger namely Ab.Rashid Ganie S/o.Mohd Ramzan R/o.Pazalpora Magam,Handwara and recovered 32 bottles of illegal liquor.

In this connection case FIR No.44/19 U/s 48 Excise Act stands registered investigation taken up .

General public has applauded this Police action.

*42-Year-Old Man Held, Brown Sugar Seized Near LoC In Karnah*

In its ongoing drive against drug menace, Police during a raid arrested a person alongwith contraband substance in Taad area of Karnah along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.

*“Police and sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on a specific information raided the house of one person Zafar Ali (42), son of Fatah Ali of Prada near line of control LOC in Karnah and recovered brown sugar,” official sources told GNS.*

While carrying out the searches, the team has recovered about 4.272 kilograms of brown sugar from the house, they said.

Station House officer (SHO) Waseem Ahmad also confirmed the incident.

*Over 50kg Fukki seized by Budgam Police, 2 drug peddlers arrested*

Budgam, August 03 (KNO) : Jammu and Kashmir Police Friday claimed to have arrested two persons along with 50kg fuki on Chadoora-Pampora Road. A senior police official told KNO that on Friday evening a naka was laid by a police party of Police Post Chadoora Budgam at Keer Kadal on Chadoora- Pampore road.

“During checking, a vehicle bearing registration number JK01L-5909 was stopped for checking. On enquiring two persons namely Gulzar Ahmad Ganai, son of Abdul Rahman of Kakpora Pulwama and Mudasir Ahmad Dar, son of Ali Mohammad Dar of Chudsu Pulwama were found boarding the vehicle,” he said.

From their possession, 50 kgs of Fukki concealed in six gunny bags were recovered, he added. Officials told KNO that a case under FIR number 138/2019 under section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered against the drug peddlers in Police Station Chadoora Budgam and further investigation has been started. *Man held with he**in in Kupwara*

Srinagar, Aug 2 ,A person was arrested with approximately 3 kilograms of he**in in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Friday afternoon.

Official sources told GNS that based on a specific input, officers established a naka at DPO Kupwara during which a Sumo (JK09-4751) was stopped and during searches the narcotic substance (he**in) concealed in three polythene packets weighing approximately 3 kilograms were recovered.

They said that has also been seized in the matter and the driver Sajad Ahmad was detained.

The vehicle was on way from Tanghdar towards Srinagar when it was stopped at DPO Kupwara.

A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that further details will be shared later.
