The Government of India has prohibited 16 Fixed Dose Combination (FDC) drugs under Section 26A of the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940, with effect from *11th June 2026*.

The list was notified through various Gazette of India S.O. numbers dated 11.06.2026. These FDCs, which include combinations of antibiotics, painkillers, anti-spasmodics, and herbal ingredients, have been banned due to lack of therapeutic justification, potential safety concerns, and risk of antimicrobial resistance.

Manufacture, sale, and distribution of these 16 combinations will be illegal after the effective date. Pharmacists, prescribers, and distributors need to ensure compliance to avoid penalties and public health issues.
