The Medical Education Unit of SKIMS and SKIMS MEDICAL COLLEGE successfully conducted a 3 Day Course of Competency Based Medical Education IN SKIMS MEDICAL COLLEGE, SRINAGAR . The hands on course was conducted under the stewardship of Worthy Director SKIMS, Prof M Ashraf Ganai and dean Medical Faculty, Prof Bashir A Fomda. The event was inaugurated by the Principal SKIMS MEDICAL COLLEGE, PROF Fazl Q Parray, who laid emphasis on life long learning as an integral quality of Medical Professionals. The course was conducted under the dynamic leadership of Dr Ajaz A Rather, Coordinator MEU, who took the participants through the road map of CBME. Dr Rachna Sabharwal who was the designated NMC observer for the course provided the critical scaffolding for the learners during the entire three day program. A total of 30 faculty members from broad specialities and super specialities of SKIMS attended the course. DR JB Singh and Dr Talat Masoodi elaborated upon the Goals and roles of the Indian Medical Graduate,and the importance of skill training. Dr Ashfaq Bhat and Dr Nargis Bali discussed the learning process and Learning Domains. Dr zulfiqar, Dr Muneer and Dr Sajad appraised the participants about latest assessment strategies. Dr Umar Hafiz and Dr Sameera facilitated the hands on sessions.
The program concluded with the validectory session wherein succesful course completion certificates were distributed among the faculty by the Principal SKIMS MEDICAL COLLEGE and NMC observer Dr Rachna Sabharwal.
