In compliance with the directions of the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, an awareness programme under the "Catch the Rain Campaign – Immediate Action for Water Conservation" was organized on 29 July 2026 at the Outpatient Department (OPD) and OPD Waiting Area of the Regional Research Institute of Unani Medicine (RRIUM), Srinagar.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Mohd. Akram Laeeque, Research Officer (Unani). Professor Arsheed Iqbal, Principal & Research Officer (Unani), Dr. Arjumand Shah, Research Officer (Unani), and Dr. Sabia educated patients and their attendants about the importance of rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, water conservation, and the objectives of the Government of India's "Catch the Rain – Where It Falls, When It Falls" initiative.
As part of the campaign, Dr. Rubeena and Dr. Ehtisham, PG Scholars, counselled patients and their attendants on practical water conservation measures and distributed "Catch the Rain" awareness pamphlets containing information on rainwater harvesting and sustainable water management practices.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from patients and their attendants. It concluded with an appeal to conserve every drop of water and actively support the "Catch the Rain – Where It Falls, When It Falls" initiative to ensure sustainable water resources for future generations.
