બપોરના 1 વાગ્યા આસપાસ હું OPD પૂરી કરીને હોસ્પિટલથી નીકળવાની તૈયારીમાં જ હતો ત્યાં ઈમરજન્સીમાં એક કેસ આવ્યો. ઈમરજન્સી રૂમમાં જઈને જોયું ત્યાં એક લગભગ 101 વર્ષની ઉમરના દાદા બેભાન જેવી અવસ્થામાં હતા. મેડિકલ હિસ્ટ્રી પ્રમાણે દાદાને એકદમ સઘન ઝાડા અને ઉલ્ટી હતા. ચેક-અપ કર્યું તો દાદાને એકદમ ડીહાઇડ્રેશન હતું અને બ્લડ પ્રેશર તો ડીહાઇડ્રેશન ને કારણે માપી ન શકાય એટલું ઓછું હતું. આ બધી પરિસ્થિતીના કારણે દાદાને કીડની પર પણ અસર થઈ હતી અને પેશાબનું પ્રમાણ પણ નીલ/શૂન્ય હતું. દાદાની ઉમર, ડીહાઇડ્રેશન, લો-બ્લડ પ્રેશર, કીડની પર અસર આ બધાનો સરવાળો કરતાં દાદાની કંડીશન ઘણી નાજુક હતી. દાદાના સગા વ્હાલાને પરિસ્થિતી વિષે સમજાવીને દાખલ કરીને તાત્કાલીક સારવાર ચાલુ કરી અને ધીમે ધીમે દાદા સ્વસ્થ થવા લાગ્યા. ત્રણ દિવસની સરવારના અંતે આજે ડોક્ટર્સ દિવસના દિવસે દાદા સંપૂર્ણ સ્વસ્થ થતાં આજે એમને રાજા આપી. રજા આપતી વખતે દાદા અને તેમના પરિવારની ખુશી જોઈને દિનેશ ડોંગરેની એક પંક્તિ યાદ આવી ગઈ.

’તું તારા હિસ્સાનું કરજે, બાકી સઘળું ઈશ્વર કરશે.’
