👶 Pulled Elbow / Nursemaid’s Elbow – What Every Parent Should Know!

Does your child suddenly stop using their arm after a small pull or twist?
It could be a Pulled Elbow (Nursemaid’s Elbow) — a very common condition in children under 5 years.

👉 What happens?
A sudden pull on the child’s hand can cause the radial head to slip out slightly, leading to pain and refusal to move the arm.

👉 Common causes:
• Lifting child by one hand
• Swinging the child by arms
• Sudden pulling while playing

👉 Signs to watch:
• Child keeps arm slightly bent
• Refuses to use the arm
• No swelling or deformity (usually)
