Gait training
Patients do learn to walk eventually on their own.
❓But do they walk as normally as before?
❓Is there a correct way to walk?
✨Gait training is combination of Strengthening, balance training ,weight bearing and aerobic training
✨Gait training is practiced for all kinds of patients like Stroke, post lower limb fracture, amputation, weakness in lowerlimb, joint replacements, spinal cord injuries and balance issues
👉🏻It makes you independent, moreover in neurological cases this kind of training with repetitive movements stimulates the nerves, helps strengthen the muscles which will reduce the spasticity and help gain control over the movement.
These are few exercises:
➡️Side walking
➡️Hurdle crossing
➡️Walking over obstacles
which are also a part of our daily routine activities, like crossing roads, potholes , stepping over , climbing steps, getting across things and others
This is how gait training helps
And it must be done under the supervision of a physiotherapist at first.
