Key Precautions to Avoid Fistula Failure:

❌ Avoid Pressure: Do not put heavy pressure, sleep on, or carry heavy loads with your fistula arm.

❌ Watch Out for Dehydration: Severe vomiting or diarrhea lowers blood pressure, increasing the risk of fistula clotting.

💤 Gentle Exercise: Squeezing a soft stress ball helps strengthen and maintain fistula function.

Two Main Causes of Fistula Failure:

Infection: Always ensure strict cleanliness and hygiene around the site before and after dialysis.

Blood Clots: Daily routine checks (feeling the vibration/thrill) help detect blood flow issues early.

If you notice any drop in vibration or flow, consult a Vascular Surgeon immediately—early intervention can save your fistula!
