Awareness can replace fear with understanding.
On the occasion of World Schizophrenia Day observed on May 24, a special awareness program was conducted at Athma Mind Care Hospital to help people better understand schizophrenia, the challenges faced by individuals living with the condition, and the importance of timely mental health support and care.
Psychiatrists Dr. Janani and Dr. Abhimanyu shared valuable insights about schizophrenia, its symptoms, treatment options, and the importance of seeking professional help without fear or stigma.
Mental health counsellors Mr. Soundar, Mrs. Aswini, and Mrs. Rukkiya spoke about the emotional and supportive care needs of people living with schizophrenia and highlighted how understanding, family support, and compassion can make a meaningful difference in recovery.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Karan Lewis, Social Mental Health Counsellor from Athma Mind Care Hospital, as part of the hospital’s ongoing efforts to create mental health awareness and encourage open conversations around mental wellbeing.
