NIMS Center for Genomic Medicine is pleased to announce the successful conduct of its Summer Internship Programme in Biosciences, with approximately 80 students currently undergoing training.

Participants represent a diverse group of institutions, including Emmanuel College, Marthoma College, Ayus College, Government Arts College (Thiruvananthapuram), Christian College Chengannur, SDV College Alappuzha, SN College Kollam, Bishop Moore College Mavelikara, and Kerala University Kariavattom.

The internship provides structured, hands-on training in the domains such as: Genome and Proteome Analysis, Molecular Diagnostics, Phytogenomics, Bionanomedicine, Microbial Techniques and Phytomedicine. The program is designed to strengthen practical competencies and foster research aptitude in emerging areas of biosciences.

NIMS Centre for Genomic Medicine (NIMSCGM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sarada Krishna Homeopathic Medical College (SKHMC) to foster academic training and collaborative research initiatives.
The MoU was signed by Dr. N.V Sugathan, Principal, SKHMC and Dr. Aneesh Nair, Principal Scientist & Head, NIMSCGM in the presence of Dr. C.K Mohan, Chairman, SKHMC and Dr. Bhavya Sabarish, Trustee, SKHMC along with other senior faculty members.
This collaboration will benefit BHMS and MD (Homeopathy) students by providing hands-on academic training, exposure to advanced research and genomic methodologies, and opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. The partnership will also facilitate faculty development, joint research & development (R&D) projects, workshops, seminars, and collaborative scientific initiatives, thereby strengthening academic excellence and research innovation.

Nair, Consultant and Head - Medical Genetics at the NIMS Centre for Genomic Medicine, NIMS Medicity, Trivandrum, has cleared the Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) examination and has been awarded membership by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, United Kingdom.
