Knee dislocation is quite rare, this is a very dangerous injury because it can also cause kinking or rupture of the important blood vessels supplying the lower limb. If this injury is not identified and treated immediately, a patient can loose blood supply to the leg leading to gangrene and in the worst case scenario AMPUTATION.

Just yesterday we received a patient with this injury brought to us by her sister. After careful assessment we identified the injury and promptly relocated the knee back to its normal position. As the injury is also associated with ligament rupture, we have referred the patient to civil hospital for MRI scan. The patient is doing fine at present..

Timely treatment is essential, it can make a difference between recovery and permanent damage.

For comfortable examination, please wear loose-fitting clothes when coming for medical consultation.

Tight-fitting clothes makes it difficult for the doctor to examine joints properly, especially the knee, hip, and shoulder.

Patients with fractures are strongly advised to wear loose and comfortable clothing such as:
Loose-fitting shirts or T-shirts
Kurta-pyjama
Loose pants or track pants
Dakmanda (where appropriate)

Loose clothing makes examination, X-rays, dressing changes, and plaster (cast) application much easier and more comfortable for both the patient and the doctor
