5 Common Myths About Child Psychology — Let’s Talk About Them. 🧠

Are children too young to experience mental health challenges?
Does seeing a child psychologist mean you’re a bad parent?
Can play and art therapy really help?
Do psychologists turn children against their parents?
And can a child’s concerns really be resolved in just one session?

In this conversation, we discuss these common misconceptions with Dr. Siddiqa Hussain, exploring how child psychology actually works and why understanding a child requires more than simply asking, “What’s wrong?”

Children may express emotions and experiences differently from adults. Creating the right environment, building trust, involving parents, and allowing children appropriate ways to express themselves can all be part of understanding their needs.

And when it comes to psychological support, meaningful change is a process—not an overnight solution.

In relationships, conflict is not always a sign of a lack of love. Often, couples experience stress because they perceive the same situation differently.

Our upbringing, family dynamics, expectations, and experiences shape how we understand situations. When these differences are not acknowledged, small disagreements can gradually become bigger conflicts.

The goal is not to win the argument, but to understand each other, respect different perspectives, and work together toward a solution.

Empathy and understanding can change the way couples navigate conflict.

What really happens in therapy? And how confidential is your session? 🧠💬

These are some of the most common questions people have before starting therapy.

In this conversation, Dr. Siddiqa Hussain addresses important questions around confidentiality, therapy structure, non-judgmental counselling, finding the right therapist, and why therapy takes time.

Therapy isn’t simply about “talking.” It is a structured process that helps you understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and patterns and develop healthier ways to cope.

And if your first counselling experience wasn’t right for you, that doesn’t mean therapy isn’t for you. Finding the right professional connection matters. 🤍

A child’s success should never come at the cost of their emotional wellbeing. 💛

Constant expectations, pressure to perform, fear of failure, and linking self-worth to marks can quietly affect how a child feels about themselves and learning.

Children don’t just need pressure to perform—they need support, understanding, and space to grow.

Let’s create environments where children feel safe to learn, make mistakes, and be themselves. 🌱

Follow Mind Works Bait for more insights on children’s emotional and mental wellbeing.

In a relationship, you don’t always have to see things the same way. ❤️

Two people can experience the same situation and still perceive it differently. The real question is: Can you accept and validate each other’s perspective?

Think of the classic 6 & 9 example—what looks like a 6 to one person may look like a 9 to another. Neither perspective has to be dismissed.

Healthy communication isn’t about proving “I’m right.”
It’s about moving from “I” to “WE” and working together toward a common solution. 🤝

Because a strong relationship isn’t about having the same perspective—it’s about respecting each other’s perspective.

Watch the reel to understand how perceptual differences can affect couple relationships.

It’s not about avoiding conflict. It’s about learning how to handle it together. ❤️

In relationships, communication can easily turn into assumptions, blame, taunts, or silent expectations.

Healthy communication means:
🗣️ Speak openly and directly
🤝 Validate each other’s feelings
💭 Say what you need instead of expecting your partner to guess
❤️ Focus on the issue, not past mistakes
🌱 Work towards resolution, not winning the argument

Because a healthy relationship isn’t one without disagreements — it’s one where both partners know how to navigate them together.

What do you think is more difficult: expressing what you feel or truly listening to your partner?
