Irregular treatment is often not caused by just “carelessness.”
Therapy interfering behaviours can develop from many factors together — emotional overwhelm, financial stress, fear of judgment, lack of motivation, family pressure, weak therapeutic alliance, avoidance, burnout, or unrealistic expectations from treatment.

When these factors remain unaddressed, consistency in therapy and medicines slowly gets affected.
Understanding the reason behind irregular treatment is an important part of recovery itself. 🌱

Sometimes therapy gets interrupted not only because of symptoms, but because of patterns coming from both the client and the therapist.
Fear of judgment, avoidance, irregular sessions, difficulty trusting, poor communication, burnout, invalidation, or lack of collaboration can all slowly affect the therapy process.

Therapy is a two-way relationship — and understanding these therapy interfering behaviours helps create safer, healthier, and more effective treatment. 🌱

Sometimes the illness is not the only challenge in treatment — the behaviours that interrupt healing matter too.
Avoiding sessions, hiding struggles, stopping medicines suddenly, or withdrawing emotionally can slow recovery.
In therapy, understanding these “therapy interfering behaviours” is also part of healing. 🌱

In our next series, we’ll explore these behaviours in detail and understand how they affect recovery and therapy progress. Stay tuned. ✨

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), especially ERP, is the gold standard for OCD.

OCD is treated with structured therapy like ERP, not just willpower.
Sometimes medication is added to reduce the intensity.
Consistency is what brings real change.
