Why do I still get acne even though I don’t eat junk food?
Avoiding junk food is a great start, but acne isn’t caused by junk food alone. Several factors can influence breakouts, including hormones, diet and lifestyle.
Here are a few possible reasons:
• Not drinking enough water
Adequate hydration supports overall skin health. If you’re consistently drinking too little water, it’s worth improving your hydration habits.
• Puberty & hormonal changes
During puberty, hormonal changes can increase oil production, which may contribute to clogged pores and breakouts.
• Too much sugar
A diet high in sugary and other high-glycemic foods may be associated with more acne in some people.
So, clear skin isn’t simply about saying “no” to junk food. Look at your overall eating pattern, hydration, lifestyle and skincare routine.
And remember — persistent or severe acne may need proper evaluation and treatment by a dermatologist.
