One-Day Capacity-Building Training Workshop for ASHA Workers
A One-Day Capacity-Building Training Workshop for ASHA Workers was organized on 7 October 2026 at the College Auditorium. The primary objective of the workshop was to provide practical and comprehensive training on Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer, with a focus on awareness, early identification, prevention, screening, and timely referral.
A total of 80 ASHA Workers and 20 other participants actively participated in the training programme.
The workshop commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Dr. Priya Jain, Director, AIIMS Udaipur; Dr. Vinay Joshi, Principal & Controller; Dr. Kailash Sharma, Senior Medical Officer; Dr. Garima Mehta, Senior Breast Cancer Specialist; and Dr. Sharda Ahmed and Group Marketing Manager Mr.Kanishk Vedsen
The workshop received active participation from three departments:
1. Breast Clinic and Surgery Department
2. Department of Gynecology
3. Department of Community Medicine тАУ Rural Health and Training Centre (RHTC)
At the conclusion of the training, questionnaires were administered to the ASHA Workers to assess their understanding and learning. The experts addressed their questions and clarified their doubts related to Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer, thereby enhancing their knowledge and confidence in addressing these issues at the community level.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participating ASHA Workers in recognition of their active participation and commitment to community health awareness.
At the end of the programme, Mr. Vivek Agarwal expressed his sincere gratitude to all the participants for their active participation, valuable contribution, and cooperation in making the training programme successful.
Overall, the workshop served as an important platform for strengthening the knowledge and practical skills of ASHA Workers, enabling them to play a more effective role in creating community-level awareness, promoting early detection, and facilitating timely referral for Breast and Cervical Cancer.
