STRYKER's NOTCH VIEW🔰:
•Stryker's notch view is a special X-ray technique for the shoulder, used primarily after an anterior dislocation to find a Hill-Sachs defect, a common bony injury where the humeral head indents the glenoid rim...
• It involves the patient lying supine (on their back) with their affected arm on their head (hand behind the head, elbow up), while the X-ray beam is angled cephalad (upwards) and centered near the armpit to project the posterior humerus for clear visualization...

POSITIONING🔰:
•Patient is kept Supine (lying on back)...
•The Affected arm is abducted (out to side), hand placed on the back of the head with fingers pointing toward the opposite shoulder/back of head, elbow elevated...
•The X-ray Beam is Angled 10-15 degrees cephalad (towards the head)...
•The Centering is Near the axilla (armpit) at the glenohumeral joint level...

Ionizing radiation damages DNA through direct and indirect mechanisms...Directly, it breaks chemical bonds within DNA, causing single- and double-strand breaks...Indirectly, it ionizes water molecules, producing free radicals that attack DNA...If unrepaired or misrepaired, this damage can lead to mutations, chromosomal abnormalities, cell death, or cancer...

CARPAL PISIFORM(Wrist Tangential) VIEW🔰:
• Wrist Tangential or Carpal Pisiform view is a specialized radiographic projection designed to visualize any fracture, dislocation, calcification, foreign body of pisiform..eradlologyeducator

POSITIONING🔰:
• The patient is placed in sitting position...
•Place the hand of supination on the support with a slope of 45° in medial rotation state.
•Adjust the pose to align wrist joint and elbow joint...
• With a slight dorsiflexion, pose flexion toward radius direction...
•Place pisiform perpendicular to image receptor (IR)...
•Project the Central Ray perpendicularly toward pisiform...

NON-WEIGHT BEARING VIEWS OF THE ANKLE🔰:
•AP View :
The anteroposterior (AP) view is obtained with the toes pointing directly upward and a vertical primary beam centered on the ankle joint. In this position, the talus is slightly externally rotated, the lateral gutter of ankle joint is partially obscured by the lateral malleolus, and the anterior tubercle of the tibia overlaps the distal fibula...
•MORTISE View:
The mortise view is obtained by internally rotating the foot 15 to 20 degrees to bring the talus into its true AP position and the malleoli equidistant from the cassette.
In this position, the entire profile of the talar dome is well seen, and both the medial and lateral clear spaces of ankle joint are well displayed and may be compared.
The primary beam must be centered on the joint space, and the foot should be dorsiflexed to avoid the tip of the lateral malleolus being overlapped by the calcaneus...
•LATERAL View:
The lateral view requires a straight tube centered on the ankle joint and superimposition of the medial and lateral malleoli, but it is often poorly taken. An ankle joint effusion can be readily appreciated as water density distending the anterior joint recess on a correctly positioned and exposed lateral view...
