World kidney day 2023! Takes up the pledge to prepare for the unprepared,the unpredictable and unexpected since your kidneys are important asset to your health !

The most difficult part of a Nephrologist practice is to say with conviction that you shall be cured and that you need to trust us ! In an era where people get charmed with alternative therapies and hook up to options on you tube ,Google and Facebook to avoid dialysis and kidney transplant ,it is a pitiable yet a helpless state of affair to see these people landing up with an advanced or end stage kidney failure. Alternative medications for Diabetes ,hypertension ,skin diseases and obesity management are taking a toll on people's health in the long run .
The myth bubble of understanding the scope of Nephrology as just dialysis and transplant needs to be burst ! The long term treatment and timely management of complications of Diabetes ,hypertension,stone disease,obesity, urinary tract infection ,heart disease ,single kidney ,gout needs an Nephrologist!

"DIALYSIS"
The word brings a death sentence to majority of the patients and their family who are diagnosed with Kidney failure for the first time.

I would want to share my experience with these patients in their own words .

Questions my patients commonly ask:
Q.Will I form a Habit of Dialysis daily or lifelong?

Q.Doctor can't you try medicines and injections ,I don't want dialysis as far as possible?

Q. Will I die after starting Dialysis?

Q. Is there a risk to life with your Dialysis ?

Q. You tube /Google /Instagram reels and other digital platforms mention treatment options that can avoid dialysis , Can we resort to them?

Q. Will dialysis damage my Kidneys ?

Q. Nephrologists/ Kidney specialists are too expensive and their treatments are overpriced ,why can't we go to our family Doctor and take treatment for high creatinine ?

The ANSWERS to all these doubts of yours lies with your Nephrologist . There are multidisciplinary approaches and tailor-made treatment options which differ for every patient and that you can be best DIAGNOSED and TREATED and MANAGED in the most appropriate way by your kidney specialist who has both expertise and experience with this .
