It is displacement of natural lens from its normal place.Bilateral congenital sunluxated lens seen mostly in Galactosemia,disease in which galactose accumulation occurs in body due to enzyme GALT deficiency.
Picture shows below, captured on slit lamp with dilated pupils with mydriatic eye drops,
A boy of 12 years followed in clinic with complain of reduced vision since 2 years. He has -10.0 D refractive error in both eye.,but with present glasses vision is poor.
After examination retina was normal, but the subluxated lens has increased axial refractive error.
Patient advised to undergo natural lens extraction with artificial lens implant with cioni ring for stabilization capsules bag and centration of artificial lens.
