🧠 Fear may work… but at what cost?
“Sleep now, or buchi will come!” 👻
“Don’t do that, or police will take you!”
“Eat your food, or something bad will happen!”
We often use these statements because they seem to work immediately. The child listens. The child stops crying. The child goes to sleep.
But fear-based parenting can teach children that obedience comes from fear rather than understanding, trust and self-regulation.
Instead of frightening your child, try:
❤️ “I know you’re not sleepy yet. Let’s make bedtime calm.”
❤️ “If u dont want to eat now, lets eat later”
❤️ “Let’s finish this together.”
We want our children to listen because they understand—not because they are scared.
Parenting is not about getting instant obedience.
It’s about teaching skills they can carry into adulthood. 🌱
