🧠 Fear may work… but at what cost?

“Sleep now, or buchi will come!” 👻
“Don’t do that, or police will take you!”
“Eat your food, or something bad will happen!”

We often use these statements because they seem to work immediately. The child listens. The child stops crying. The child goes to sleep.

But fear-based parenting can teach children that obedience comes from fear rather than understanding, trust and self-regulation.

Instead of frightening your child, try:
❤️ “I know you’re not sleepy yet. Let’s make bedtime calm.”
❤️ “If u dont want to eat now, lets eat later”
❤️ “Let’s finish this together.”

We want our children to listen because they understand—not because they are scared.

Parenting is not about getting instant obedience.
It’s about teaching skills they can carry into adulthood. 🌱

🍪 Are biscuits really a healthy snack for kids? 👀

“Ragi biscuit”, “high-protein biscuit” or “no added sugar” doesn’t automatically mean it’s the best choice for your child!

When choosing biscuits for children, look beyond the marketing claims. Check the ingredients, added sugar, salt, fibre, protein and portion size. ❤️

It is ok as an occasional snack but not a daily snack!!

👉 check the reel completely to learn how to choose biscuits wisely for your child.

In newborn period till 6 months of age,It’s normal to pass stools 10-12times a day or pass stool once in 7 days if on breastfeeding and gaining weight and no cry.

Please don’t give any oil for babies less than 6months.It can cause diarrhea and dehydrate your baby.
It’s sometimes leads to electrolyte imbalances and keeps your baby life in danger.

🪱 Worm infections in children are common—but preventable!

On National Deworming Day, let’s remind ourselves why deworming matters. ❤️

Worm infestations can affect a child’s nutrition, appetite, growth, iron levels and overall wellbeing.

💊 Deworming medicines are safe and effective when given at the right age, dose and schedule as recommended under the national programme.

👩🏻‍⚕️ As parents, make sure your child receives deworming medication when advised—and don’t skip it just because your child “looks healthy.”

👶 Mouthing is NORMAL development — not a bad habit! ❤️

Babies explore the world through their mouths. Putting hands, toys and safe objects into their mouth is an important part of sensory exploration, learning and development. 🧠✨

❌ Don’t constantly stop them.
❌ Don’t scold or shame them.
❌ Don’t label it as a “bad habit.”

Instead, make their environment safe and offer clean, age-appropriate objects they can explore.

⚠️ The key is SAFETY — avoid choking hazards, small objects, sharp objects and unsafe materials.

So when your baby mouths something safe…
👉 Let them explore! 💛

Mouthing is a developmental milestone, not a bad habit.

😱 Your toddler is SCREAMING on the floor… and you have NO idea what to do?

Every parent has been there. But here’s the truth: tantrums aren’t bad behavior — they’re a brain that hasn’t learned to cope yet. 🧠💛

Here’s my simple 4-step method to handle any tantrum calmly:

1️ STAY CALM — your calm is contagious (yes, even when you want to scream too!)
2️⃣ NAME THE FEELING — “I see you’re really upset right now”
3️⃣ STAY CLOSE, DON’T LECTURE — save the talking for after the storm passes
4️⃣ VALIDATE, THEN REDIRECT — once calm, gently guide them forward

Save this for your next meltdown moment 🔖

☀️ “Keep the baby in sunlight, jaundice will go away” — sound familiar?

Here’s the truth: light DOES help break down bilirubin — but only a very specific wavelength, delivered at controlled doses. That’s literally how phototherapy machines work.

Direct sunlight? Uncontrolled, unmeasured, and comes with real risks — sunburn, overheating, dehydration.

Sunlight through a window? Mostly filtered out. Barely does anything.

So what’s the safe move? 👇
✅ Mild jaundice — a few minutes of indirect, filtered light (baby in diaper, supervised) won’t hurt - but not ideal treatment.
✅ Rising or high bilirubin — this needs a bilirubin check and possibly real phototherapy, not a balcony
✅ When in doubt — always let your pediatrician guide the “how much” and “how long”

Save this for the next well-baby visit 📌 and share it with a new parent who’s hearing this advice from every relative right now.
