What Happens Between Giving a Blood Sample and Receiving an ELISA Report?
Many patients wonder why some laboratory tests take hours—or even days—to generate a report. After all, the final report often contains just a number and a reference range. But behind every reliable result is a meticulous scientific process.
ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) is one of the most important laboratory techniques used worldwide. It helps detect and measure specific antibodies, antigens, hormones, and proteins in blood. These methods are often faster, more sensitive, highly automated, and suitable for processing large numbers of samples. Nevertheless, ELISA continues to remain a dependable and scientifically validated technique in diagnostic medicine.
