Requirements and No Requirements for Removal of 3rd Molar at Sai's AP Dental Clinic, Gollapudi, Vijayawada

Requirements for 3rd Molar Removal:

1. Pain and Infection: Persistent pain, swelling, or recurrent pericoronitis (infection around the wisdom tooth).

2. Impaction: If the tooth is partially erupted, impacted, or causing pressure on adjacent teeth.

3. Cyst or Tumor Formation: If the wisdom tooth is associated with a cyst, tumor, or other pathological condition.

4. Decay and Gum Disease: If the tooth is decayed, has deep caries, or is affecting the health of adjacent teeth.

5. Orthodontic Reasons: If the wisdom tooth is causing crowding or misalignment of other teeth.

6. Trauma or Cheek Biting: If the wisdom tooth is causing irritation to the cheek or soft tissues.

7. Prosthodontic or Restorative Needs: If the wisdom tooth interferes with prosthetic treatments such as dentures or implants.

8. Fractured 3rd Molar: If the tooth is fractured and cannot be restored.

9. Distoangular or Horizontal Impaction: If the tooth is positioned at an angle that affects normal occlusion and function.

No Requirements for 3rd Molar Removal:

1. Asymptomatic and Fully Erupted: If the wisdom tooth is fully erupted, properly aligned, and does not cause any symptoms.

2. No Associated Pathology: If there is no cyst, tumor, or other pathological changes.

3. No Interference with Adjacent Teeth: If the wisdom tooth does not cause crowding, decay, or damage to adjacent teeth.

4. Elderly Patients with No Symptoms: If the patient is elderly and the procedure may pose unnecessary surgical risks.

5. Medical Contraindications: If the patient has uncontrolled systemic conditions (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders) that increase surgical risks.

6. No Orthodontic or Prosthodontic Concerns: If the tooth does not interfere with existing or planned orthodontic or prosthetic treatments.
