Case Series 02 fever with a twist ๐ฅ
* ๐ฉโโ๏ธ A 25-year-old woman came with persistent fever lasting for one month.
* ๐ She had already used multiple antibiotics and Dolo (paracetamol) without lasting relief.
* ๐งช Further medical workup revealed a thyroid problem as the underlying cause.
* ๐ก๏ธ Surprisingly, high thyroid levels (hyperthyroidism) can sometimes cause fever.
* โ๏ธ Hyperthyroidism symptoms include weight loss, palpitations, restlessness, and frequent motions.
* ๐ค Hypothyroidism, on the other hand, causes weight gain, tiredness, dry skin, hair fall, and sleepiness.
* ๐ง Key learning: long-term unexplained fever can occasionally be due to thyroid issues.
* ๐ซ Avoid using over-the-counter antibiotics without a doctorโs prescription โ it can do more harm than good.
* ๐จโโ๏ธ Consult your endocrinologist for proper diagnosis and management.
