Case Series 02 fever with a twist ๐Ÿ”ฅ
* ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ A 25-year-old woman came with persistent fever lasting for one month.
* ๐Ÿ’Š She had already used multiple antibiotics and Dolo (paracetamol) without lasting relief.
* ๐Ÿงช Further medical workup revealed a thyroid problem as the underlying cause.
* ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Surprisingly, high thyroid levels (hyperthyroidism) can sometimes cause fever.
* โš–๏ธ Hyperthyroidism symptoms include weight loss, palpitations, restlessness, and frequent motions.
* ๐Ÿ’ค Hypothyroidism, on the other hand, causes weight gain, tiredness, dry skin, hair fall, and sleepiness.
* ๐Ÿง  Key learning: long-term unexplained fever can occasionally be due to thyroid issues.
* ๐Ÿšซ Avoid using over-the-counter antibiotics without a doctorโ€™s prescription โ€” it can do more harm than good.
* ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ Consult your endocrinologist for proper diagnosis and management.

Too thirsty? think again
* ๐Ÿ’ง Drinking more than 4-5 liters a day regularly can be excessive for most people.โ€‹
* ๐Ÿง  The body has hormones (like ADH) to control thirst, so constantly feeling thirsty may indicate an underlying issue.โ€‹
* ๐Ÿฉธ Persistent thirst could signal diabetes or hormone problems such as diabetes insipidus.โ€‹
* ๐Ÿฆด High calcium levels can also cause excessive thirst, sometimes linked to kidney stones or bone issues.โ€‹
* ๐Ÿฅ Donโ€™t always blame weather or surroundings for thirstโ€”consult an endocrinologist if thirst is unusually high or continuous.โ€‹

๐Ÿ‘ถ Breastfeeding for the first 6 months is very important for every child.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Continue breastfeeding along with complementary foods after 6 months too.

๐Ÿงƒ Avoid formula feeds and unnecessary high-calorie foods in early months when ever possible

๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ Breast milk provides balanced nutrients, reducing obesity risk.

โš ๏ธ Children missing breastfeeding are at higher risk of early childhood obesity.

๐Ÿƒ Encourage regular physical activities to maintain healthy weight.

Call to Action

Can we prevent osteoporosis through exercise ? ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿš€
* ๐Ÿง  can exercise prevent osteoporosis?
* ๐Ÿš€ astronauts lose bone strength in space (no gravity = no weight on bones)
* โš–๏ธ without weight, bones weaken and fracture risk increases
* ๐Ÿ›ค๏ธ like railway tracks โ€” used ones shine โœจ, unused ones rust ๐Ÿ›‘
* ๐Ÿ’ช weight-bearing exercises keep bones strong
* ๐Ÿ’ฅ more usage = more calcium deposits = stronger bones
* ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ move daily to protect your bone health!

Osteoporosis causes & risk factors๐Ÿฆด

* ๐Ÿฆด Osteoporosis means bones become weaker and more fragile.
* ๐Ÿ‘ต Commonly affects post-menopausal women and older individuals.
* ๐Ÿ’Š Risk factors: age, calcium disorders, other metabolic bone diseases, and long-term steroid use.
* ๐Ÿค• Weak bones fracture easilyโ€”even mild actions like coughing or slips can cause breaks.
* ๐Ÿฉป Bone strength can be checked using a DEXA scan, which helps diagnose osteoporosis.
* ๐Ÿฅ Early treatment is available if bone strength is low; consult an endocrinologist for expert care. * ๐Ÿ“ Location:

Do thyroid pills mean lifelong treatment?

* โ“ Many patients ask if thyroid tablets are lifelong or for a permanent problem.
* ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Not everyone needs to take thyroid tablets permanentlyโ€”reasons for starting vary.
* ๐Ÿคฐ Sometimes tablets are started temporarily during pregnancy and stopped later.
* ๐Ÿ”„ Dose and severity decide if treatment is long or short termโ€”low doses can sometimes be reduced.
* ๐Ÿฆ  Some thyroid problems are caused by temporary inflammation (thyroiditis), not always permanent.
* ๐Ÿงฌ Autoimmune thyroid issues usually last longer, but even here, about 4% can recover.
* ๐Ÿง‘โ€โš•๏ธ Every case is differentโ€”consult an endocrinologist for the right guidance.
