Vastus Medialis Obliques (VMO) - This muscle is present inside of knee cap which is an active and dynamic stabiliser of patella (knee cap). Inhibition of VMO muscle may happen due to long term injuries, post surgical procedures. Malfunction of muscle leads to front knee pain. Case study -
A runner had pain over inner aspect of ankle and it was diagnosed as tibialis posterior tendinitis. He was under treatment for 5 days. At the end of treatment everyday he was applied with " REVERSE OF 6 " taping method. The taping minimise the load on the muscle and tendon thereby aids in relaxation. The pain has reduced within 3 sittings and he was able to do his daily activities without any discomfort.

Today I had a patient with complaints of acute inner ankle joint pain and swelling for 3 days and he was diagnosed with tibialis posterior (inner shin muscle) tendinitis. This happened because he restarted his running activities recently and he did daily 7km. With much enthusiasm he increased his mileage too early which has taken a toll on his ankle resulting in overuse injury.
