When compassionate people are ready to move out of fawning, people-pleasing, and codependency, we discover our true boundaries.

Because becoming boundaried is how we shake off the chains of disempowerment.

Becoming boundaried is how we move into the expansive truth of who we are (and what we are here to do).

And this is shown first in our own personal lives, as we heal and shift and transform — but then it begins to show up in the wider world.

Because we organically start showing up for our world in a whole new way. ✨

And as we become boundaried, we understand (even more!) how much we are all connected — and now we are empowered.

Survival, scarcity, and suffering are NOT supposed to be how the humans are forced to live.

And it doesn’t have to stay that way. 🔥

WE get to decide what kind of world we want to make, together.

And we all suffer if we continue to agree to a world where only some are allowed to have “rights” (but others don’t), where only some are allowed to thrive (but everyone else must struggle).

We CAN have a loving cooperative world.

We CAN create a world where our collective boundaries support dignity and honor for everyone.

Because that’s what true boundaries are: the structural support for embodied love.

And shouldn’t basic dignity and respect be the birthright of all?

Yes.

But that kind of world will never exist if the compassionate people continue to believe it’s their job to keep-the-people-pleased.

Becoming boundaried is deeply personal work.

But it’s also how we help change the world.

Come into your power, compassionate ones. 🦋

We are waiting for you.

👉 Viðbragð er ekki val!

👉 Viðbragð er ekki val!

The reaction you regret rarely starts with a decision. It starts with a trigger you didn't see coming and a nervous system that moved faster than your awareness could.
Most people focus on the reaction. They try to manage it, suppress it, apologize for it. But the reaction is stage five. By the time you're exploding, withdrawing, or shutting down completely, the cycle has already been running for several seconds without you.

The shame that comes after is the part that does the most long-term damage. Because instead of getting curious about the cycle, you conclude something about your character. "I'm too reactive. I'm unstable. I can't handle things." None of those conclusions are true. They're just what happens when you don't yet have a map.

Where You Can Interrupt the Cycle

At stage 2
Notice the body signal before it escalates. One slow breath tells your nervous system: this is not an emergency.

At stage 4
Question the story. "Is this true right now or does it just feel familiar?" That pause is where your rational mind can re-enter.

After stage 6
Replace shame with curiosity. "What was I actually reacting to?" That question is the beginning of breaking the pattern.

The first pie chart is often true in the early phase of a relationship – what I call “love without knowledge.”

You have fallen head over heels for your partner. But you have no idea how they pay their bills, handle their family, or the condition of their bathroom floor.

Being able to digest the disappointment that comes with realizing your partner is just as imperfect as you is one of the critical skills of lasting intimacy.

A good, healthy relationship is never all smooth sailing. It's one where you fight, take accountability, and find your way back to each other. Again and again.

What would a pie chart of your relationship look like?
