EFT Triage Conference, Las Vegas. eft_triage_conference
Kathryn de Bruin Therapy and Training and I built Surrendering the Shield over months of calls across time zones. The workshop rests on one paradox: the emotional system after betrayal hardens under pressure. Press the rage and it crystallizes. Reason with the protest and it sharpens. The only thing that moves is attuned surrender, standing beside the armor long enough that the arm holding it begins to tremble. Watching a room of clinicians agree to stay in that heat without putting it out was the best part of my week.
Dr. Lisa Palmer-Olsen, LMFT and jennine_estes_powell with the help of DrBelle EFT Guru @ We Heart Therapy built a conference where the clinical material stayed at the center and where people were allowed to say what is hard about this work. This kind of design is invisible until you have tried to do it yourself.
Jim Coan opened with the science underneath everything that followed, which is what lets a room of clinicians stay inside the emotion without losing the ground.
Thank you to the colleagues I got to learn from across these days: George Faller , Leanne Campbell, Jim Furrow, Kathryn Rheem, Annmarie Early, Michael Barnett , James Hawkins , James mcCraken, Sam Jinich , Silvina Irwin , Robert Neborsky, Stefanie Carnes, Lisa Blum, Zoya Simakhodskaya , Cindy Zane , Feion Villodas, Ben Medley, Simona Herb, Rachel Thomas , Natalia Gilabert , Ali Barbosa, Ryan Rana Professional Training . Every one of them holds this model slightly differently, and I came away holding mine differently too.
Standing in a conference that honors her, Dr. Sue Johnson , among people who carry her work into languages and countries she never got to see it reach, I understood something again about why we keep doing this in rooms rather than alone. I flew in from Italy carrying a community. I fly home belonging to a wider one.
