Happy 101st Birthday, my dear Vanda ❤️🎂🌹
When I was working as a caregiver in Italy, I used to record little videos for Vanda’s daughter whenever I wanted to reassure her that her mother was doing well.
There were moments when Vanda would call her daughter and say that she felt tired and could not continue anymore. Her daughter would become worried, but I would always say, “Don’t worry, your mother is okay. She is still strong, she is eating well, she is smiling, and she is enjoying her life.”
I remember when I was cooking my African food in the kitchen, Vanda would come and stand beside me, watching and sometimes eating. I respected those moments because it was her way of enjoying the experience and being part of my daily life. Later, we would laugh together, sharing the beautiful smiles that I will always remember.
Those moments taught me that caregiving is much more than helping with daily tasks. It is about love, patience, respect, understanding, and communication. It is about making someone feel valued, safe, and cared for.
Vanda always told me, “Communication is the key to our job.” She was right. Through communication, we build trust, not only with the person we care for but also with their family.
Today, my dear Vanda, you are celebrating 101 wonderful years of life. Happy birthday again ❤️🎂. I hope to see you whenever I return to Italy. I truly miss you, your smile, our conversations, and the special bond we shared.
May God continue to bless you with happiness, peace, good health, and many more beautiful moments. 🌹❤️.
