I have always been a night person.
My mom told me she used to wake up in the night to check on me in the crib and saw me just lying on my back, with my eyes wide open, just wandering the ceiling in silence.
And if falling asleep was hard, waking up was even harder. Growing up I also developed I slight sense of guilt from this struggle of waking up, as I expect from myself to jump off the bed with energy and purpose.
When told me I would have start teaching at 7.30 in the morning I could never expect how much it would help me to overcome my sleeping problems, making me realize a new way of approaching my awakening routine.
Now I understand why people go running at sunrise, or roll the mat with the first light, it brings a new sense of awareness, and joy.
When I start in the morning the rest of the day is brighter and I feel I can overcome problems and anxiety.
