Nietzsche said that… you have to become who you are.

And he didn’t talk about “finding yourself”.
He was talking about creating yourself.

Because there is no ready-made version of you.
There is what you choose to become.

And we often get stuck
not because we don’t know who we are,
but because we are afraid of disappointing expectations.

Becoming yourself comes at a price:
stop being what others want.

Have you ever experienced a situation…
and gave it a meaning that, over time,
has completely changed?

The truth is that we don’t react to reality as it is…
but to the meaning we attribute to it.

Paul Watzlawick explained it well:

“There is no absolute reality, but multiple versions of reality.”
Two people can have the exact same experience…
and come out with opposite emotions.

Because our brain interprets, selects, builds.
It filters everything through past experiences, beliefs, fears.

An end can feel like a failure…or the beginning of something you didn’t see before.

Cognitive assessment studies,
show that it is our interpretation of events
— not the event itself — 🛑
to determine the emotions we feel.

Often the true meaning of what we experience…can come after a time.
What hurts you today may prove necessary tomorrow.

Maybe you can’t control everything that happens.
But you can start observing
how you’re reading it.

The one you see now,
is just one of the possible versions of reality.

Bowlby said that.. you love as you have been loved.

Bowlby studied attachment:
To him, the way you relate comes from how someone took care of you.

If love was stable you will tend to trust
If it was inconsistent you might tend to chase
If it was missing you might tend to avoid

And without realizing it…
you replicate those same dynamics in adult relationships.

You don’t just choose who you love.
You choose what is familiar to you.

Here’s your question
“How do I tell my kids I’m separating without hurting them?”

The truth is this:
you can’t avoid the pain altogether.
But you can avoid leaving them alone inside
that pain.

The separation is
a difficult time.
But it doesn’t have to become trauma.
Research tells us that children suffer much more from conflict between parents that the separation itself.

So when you say it… Do it together, if possible.
Use simple, true words.

Don’t accuse the other parent,
Don’t give adult details,
Don’t make them feel responsible.

There is one fundamental thing:
children do not need to know everything but to feel
protected within the truth.

Reassure them of what will remain stable,
Welcome all their emotions
(even anger, even silence).

And above all:
they must not console you,
they don’t have to choose,
they don’t have to grow up too fast.

Children don’t need perfect parents.

They need predictable, present, and confident adults.

Because what really protects them
it’s not staying together at all costs…
but feeling loved,
always,
even while everything changes.

Music: Shadow improv by

Jung said that… the part of you you hide is the part that controls you.

Jung spoke of “shadow”:
everything you don’t want to be… but you are.

The anger you repress.
The envy you deny.
The side you don’t show to be accepted.

The problem?
The more you reject it, the more it acts in the shadows.

And often… you see it in others.
It bothers you in others… because it’s yours.

You don’t get better by ignoring the shadow.
You become free knowing her.

What you think of yourself…
it’s not just a thought.

It’s something that really shapes your brain.

In psychology, mindset
is the set of deep beliefs that guides, the way
in which you interpret
what happens to you.
And these beliefs activate specific mental and emotional patterns.

For example:
if you believe
“I’m not capable”,
your brain will tend to avoid challenges
and to activate defense responses, such as anxiety.

If you think “I can learn”,
circuits related to motivation, curiosity and
to growth.

Feeling “wrong”, closes you off.

Feeling “evolving” opens you up.

the mindset is not fixed.
Thanks to neuroplasticity, the brain is constantly changing
based on the thoughts you train every day.

Setting your mindset consciously
it means to choose,
every day,
if to remain in fear…
or train yourself for possibility.

You don’t have to get perfect.
You must become
aware
of how you think.

And from there… everything changes.

Here’s your question… “How can I change those beliefs that are holding me back?”

It’s a question I’ve talked about with a lot of people. And I’m glad you asked.

The answer is that beliefs change with patience, awareness… and a method.

Limiting beliefs are those deep sentences
which we have internalized over time:

“I’m not enough”,

“I won’t make it”, “I don’t deserve it”…

They are not born by chance.

According to scholar Beck, these beliefs are formed
through early experiences
and become stable schemes with which we read reality.

And here something powerful happens:

we don’t see things as they are…
but as we believe they are.

And then one must recognize the limiting belief.

Give it a name.
Bring it to light.

(“Okay, I’m thinking I’m not worth enough.”)

Question it.

Let’s learn to ask ourselves:
“What evidence do I have that this is really the case?”

We need to build more realistic alternatives.

I’m not talking about forced positive sentences…
but of more balanced and real thoughts.

And in this whole process… remember that those beliefs that limited you..
they once protected you.

You don’t have to fight yourself.
You have to learn to reread yourself.
