short description of the post for FB IG and youtube
Today, on the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, we are reminded that in times of unrest, fear, division, and uncertainty, we can turn to prayer. šŸ“暟Œ¹

St. Hildegard looked to Mary as the one through whom Christ—the true Light—entered our wounded world and restored harmony. Our world needs the Rosary now more than ever.

For peace in our hearts, our families, our nations, and throughout the world—let us pray the Rosary. šŸ™

Harmony is often restored through simplicity. 🌿
Our days can become so full—work, family, responsibilities, errands, and the endless little things that ask for our attention. Sometimes we need to intentionally make room for quiet.
St. Hildegard’s wisdom continually brings us back to a simpler way of living: nourishing foods, herbs, prayer, time in nature, and greater attentiveness to the needs of body and soul.
Today we’re sharing one of those simple Hildegardian traditions—Hildegard’s Calm Blend, a combination of valerian root and catnip traditionally used to support relaxation, calm, and inner balance.
Perhaps today is a good day to slow down just a little. šŸ’š
Pause for a moment and give yourself the gift of rest.

Today, October 2, the Church celebrates the Holy Guardian Angels. šŸ¤

What a beautiful reminder that God, in His loving providence, has not left us to walk this earthly journey alone. Our Guardian Angels quietly accompany us—guarding, guiding, and helping lead us toward God.

St. Hildegard had a profound awareness of the angelic world. In her visions, she described the choirs of angels surrounding God in praise and participating in the beautiful harmony of His creation. Her writings remind us that the invisible world is very real—and perhaps Heaven is much closer than we sometimes imagine.

Today, remember your Guardian Angel. Speak to him, ask for his help, and thank God for this faithful heavenly companion walking beside you. šŸ™āœØ

In this video, I’ll show you how to make wormwood oil at home and why the timing of the wormwood harvest matters. Traditionally, the finished oil is gently massaged onto the chest during times of cough.

Don’t grow your own wormwood? Ready-to-use Wormwood Oil is also available from Hildegard’s Way. 🌿

Horehound Soup is one of those wonderfully simple Hildegardian preparations that has earned some very loyal followers. One of our customers, Kathy, swears by it. She writes:

ā€œThe cure I have used all these years and recommend to so many is her cure for sinus problems...with the horehound, white w**e, and cream. Works every time! No antibiotics!!ā€

It is also one of my own go-to Hildegardian preparations when my nose and throat feel congested.

Horehound (Marrubium vulgare) is a distinctly bitter herb with a very long history of traditional use. Its name has been associated with the Hebrew marrob, meaning ā€œbitter juiceā€ā€”a description that certainly fits its taste!

Dealing with seasonal discomfort involving the throat, tonsils, larynx, or sinuses? Watch the video to learn how to prepare St. Hildegard’s Horehound Soup at home. And if you enjoy growing medicinal herbs, why not grow your own horehound? 🌿

Happy Feast of St. Hildegard! 🌿

Today we celebrate a woman whose wisdom continues to reach us nearly nine centuries later. May her courage strengthen us, her humility inspire us, and her love for God remind us where all true wisdom begins.

May we learn to recognize the virtues, welcome them into our daily lives—and perhaps even sing a little more and shout a little less. 😊

St. Hildegard of Bingen, pray for us! šŸ’š
