This week, we are celebrating a special milestone as our embalmer, Brian, marks 10 years of service with Pitcher & Le Quesne.

Brian's connection with our company spans many years, and throughout that time he has been a valued member of the team, bringing dedication, professionalism and an unwavering commitment to the families we serve.

Much of Brian's work takes place behind the scenes, but it plays an incredibly important role in helping families say goodbye to their loved ones with dignity, care and respect.

We are grateful for all that Brian contributes to our team and are delighted to celebrate this milestone with him. Thank you, Brian, for your years of service, loyalty and friendship.

June marks Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Awareness Month — a time to gently acknowledge the families carrying the heartbreak of losing a baby too soon.

For many parents and families, these little lives are deeply loved, forever remembered, and always part of their story.

As funeral directors, it is a privilege to support families through some of the most difficult moments imaginable, and this month we hold space for those grieving the loss of a baby, whether recent or many years ago.

To all parents, siblings, grandparents and loved ones remembering a precious little life this month — we are thinking of you 🤍

This special evening brings Islanders together to pause, reflect, and remember loved ones in an incredibly gentle and meaningful way.

It’s a reminder of the strength of community, compassion, and togetherness — values that matter deeply to us.

Events like this don’t just light up the beach, they shine a light on the importance of care, connection, and support for those who need it most across the Island.

Grief doesn’t follow a timeline.

For many, it’s in the quieter weeks and months after a funeral that support is needed most—when life begins to carry on, but loss is still very present.

Over the coming months, we will be working alongside a Student Bereavement Counsellor who is Cruse-trained in the UK and leads a bereavement support group here in Jersey. Together, we will be offering a small number of one-to-one sessions within our community.

It’s something we feel quietly proud to be part of—working with local people to extend care beyond the funeral, and to support those who may need it most.
