💊 Investing in Excellence Through Training 💊

At Aurum Home Care, the safety and wellbeing of our clients is always our highest priority.

We are delighted that our newest carers have successfully completed their 1st part of Level 3 Administration of Medication Training, delivered by the fantastic Filipa at Care College - Jersey. A huge thank you to Filipa and the team for being so flexible and accommodating, ensuring our carers could complete this essential training and continue to provide the highest standard of care.

Medication management is a vital part of many of our clients' daily lives. Proper training helps ensure medications are administered safely, accurately, and with confidence, giving peace of mind to our clients and their families. It's also an important requirement of the Jersey Care Commission Standards, helping us maintain the quality and professionalism that our community deserves.

Last week, Aurum Home Care’s incredible Specialist Services team completed SAFE Programs training.

This bespoke training gave our team valuable new skills and understanding to help support the wellbeing, comfort, and safety of our clients and staff. By learning more about how people respond to stress and challenging situations, our team are even better equipped to recognise early signs of distress, provide reassurance, and create calmer, more positive outcomes for those in our care.

The training focused on practical communication techniques, confidence-building, and personalised approaches that help ensure every client feels understood, respected, and supported in a way that meets their individual needs.

At Aurum, we are always committed to investing in staff development that helps us deliver compassionate, specialist care of the very highest standard. Thank you to Richard for such an insightful and empowering programme.

☀️ Heatwave Warning – Please Take Care ☀️

Jersey Met are forecasting a heatwave over the weekend and into early next week, with temperatures expected to reach 30°C–31°C.

While many of us enjoy the sunshine, hot weather can also pose serious health risks, particularly for older people and vulnerable adults. Overheating, dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke can develop quickly in extreme temperatures.

Aurum Home Care would like to remind all clients, carers and families to take extra care during this period by:

💧 Drinking plenty of water
🧴 Staying cool and out of direct sunlight where possible
👒 Wearing light clothing and sun protection
🏠 Keeping homes ventilated and shaded
☎️ Checking in regularly on vulnerable friends and relatives
