15 Jersey families have contacted us for the first time this year alone.

Each family came to us during a time of uncertainty.

A diagnosis, an unexpected transfer, a referral to a specialist hundreds of miles away.

The common thread is that none of them had planned for this.

We are currently supporting 81 families through that process.

Just 4 months ago that number was 76.

When a family gets in touch, we ask what their appointment requires.

Then we work with our partners the Grace Crocker Family Support Foundation, Jersey Children's Charity and the Friends of the Jersey Neonatal Unit,

These partnerships are vital in securing the funding these families need.

They don't fill out lengthy applications. They tell us what's needed and we do what we can to help make it happen.

For some families that means covering a second adult's travel. For others it means extended accommodation when surgery gets rescheduled.

For a lot it just means someone to talk to when things get too much.

If you know a Jersey family currently facing an off island referral, please share this with them so they don’t have to navigate it alone.

💛 Walking for 65 Roses – Supporting Cystic Fibrosis 💛

This June, one of our amazing mums, Tamara, and her beautiful boy Avi are walking 65 kilometres for “65 Roses” to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive genetic condition that causes thick, sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and other organs, making daily life challenging. Thanks to ongoing research and fundraising, children like Avi can now thrive with the right care and treatment — but there’s still more to be done.

🌼 June 12th is Wear Yellow Day to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis and showing support for everyone affected by this rare condition.

Every donation helps fund vital research and life‑saving medications — bringing hope for a future where Cystic Fibrosis can be cured.

This is Zion.

He was born premature while on a family holiday in Kenya, tiny, fragile, and needed specialised care.

For 3 months, he was too small to safely travel home.

His mum stayed by his side in hospital while his dad and three sisters waited in Jersey "We prayed and waited while he fought to grow stronger."

3 months is a long wait to meet your child.

When Zion was finally strong enough to fly, getting home meant coordinating flights and accommodation across multiple countries.

The logistics were significant as was the weight of finally bringing their family back together.

We sourced funding to cover the costs that made it possible for the whole family to be in London together for that journey home.

When they landed in Jersey, we were there to meet them with a little starter pack provided by for Zion.

"It gave us peace of mind," the Nyatta family said. "We weren't alone."

Zion is home now growing and thriving with his mum, his dad, and the 3 sisters who waited months to meet him for the first time.

If you'd like to support other families going through something like this, the donation link is in the comments.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do 🧡

For the charities that help to support us, Volunteers are key. These wonderful people show up because they care. Their warmth and empathy builds a culture of kindness and strengthens our island community. They are often the reason many charities can exist at all! Thank you to all our local volunteers.

Thank you to our board members Aidan, Matt and Regi. Your time, care and community spirit make all of this possible.

Thank you for supporting families when they need it the most. 🥰

This is Billie.

She arrived 5 weeks early in a hospital 150 miles from her home, while her mum Chelsea was under general anaesthetic.

Chelsea had recently been diagnosed with placenta accreta which meant she couldn't stay in Jersey for the birth.

And had to leave home at 32 weeks pregnant with no clear date for when she'd be coming back.

She had to wait in Southampton for 3 weeks, separated from her family while the surgery ahead carried very serious risks.

Thankfully it went even better than the surgeons were expecting and Billie and Chelsea were able to come home

We supported Chelsea and her family throughout those weeks, emotionally and financially, through funding sourced from local Jersey charities.

If you'd like to help the next family in this position, please share this with someone who may need our support.
