We’re proud to support and celebrate student success, and we wish Ola every success as she continues her studies in Forensic Psychology at university.

A remarkable Jersey story has come full circle, just days before Liberation Day.

For more than 80 years, the Le Breton family kept a photograph of "Tom" — a Soviet prisoner of war who escaped a N**i labour camp in 1943 and was hidden on their Jersey farm for the rest of the Occupation. After liberation, he was sent home to the USSR and never heard from again.

Thanks to the BBC, his family in Uzbekistan have now been found. His grandson has spoken for the first time with Dulcie Le Breton — John and Phyllis's daughter, who still lives in Jersey and turns 90 next month.

This week, Uzbekistan posthumously awarded John and Phyllis the Order of Friendship for their courage and compassion.

In Dulcie's own words: "My parents did what they did simply because it was the right thing to do."

A story worth remembering — especially this weekend. 💙
