Why is it so hard to accept?

The biggest danger is continuing to deny the death of a loved one.

Acceptance is important for your path to recovery. The longer you deny this reality, the longer you deny yourself the experience of healing.

It is not just the unexpected deaths that are hard to accept. Even if you were preparing for your loved one’s death, for example after a long sickbed, the impact of death can still cause the same emotional resistance to accepting the new reality of life without your loved one.

Accepting the death of a loved one is hard simply because the loved one is an important part of your life, your being, and your continuing existence.

Grief & Loss Therapeutic Support

In the wake of profound loss, Delapenha’s Funeral Services Psychological & Grief Support Services was honoured to provide a Grief & Loss Therapeutic Support Group for the team at Ocean Coral Spring.

The session created a safe and compassionate space for employees to acknowledge their grief, process difficult emotions, understand normal reactions to traumatic loss, and learn healthy coping and grounding strategies.

Grief looks different for everyone. There is no single “right” way to mourn. Healing begins when people are given permission to feel, speak, remember, support one another, and seek help when needed.

To the entire Ocean Coral Spring family, we extend our deepest condolences. We are truly sorry for your loss and for the lives that have been affected by this tragedy. May you continue to find strength in one another as you navigate the days ahead.
