Starting October 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Service is expanding access to blood donation with new monthly collection opportunities at:

📍 Greater Portmore Health Centre
📅 Fourth Tuesday of each month
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

📍 Princess Margaret Hospital, St. Thomas
📅 First Monday of each month
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Every blood donation can make a critical difference for patients across Jamaica—from accident and trauma victims to mothers, children and persons requiring surgery or ongoing medical care.

You don’t have to wait for an emergency to become a lifesaver. Make blood donation part of your routine.

Before you donate blood, a little preparation can make your donation experience smoother, safer and more comfortable. ❤️🩸

Before heading to donate, remember to:
✅ Make sure you’re feeling well
✅ Get enough rest
✅ Eat within 3 hours of your planned donation
✅ Meet the required weight and eligibility guidelines
✅ Be prepared to answer a few health and lifestyle questions during screening

Some situations may require you to wait before donating, including a recent tattoo or piercing. Every donor is assessed individually to help protect both you and the person who may receive your blood.

Jamaica needs a reliable supply of blood every day—for accident victims, surgeries, mothers experiencing complications, children and other patients who depend on transfusions.

Your donation could be the one someone is waiting for.
