Ms Catherine Brown, a second-year doctoral candidate in Public Health from the Faculty of Medical Sciences and supervised by Dr Madhuvanti Murphy from the GA-CDRC copped first place in The UWI Cave Hill 3-Minute Thesis Competition in June 2025. Her PhD research topic is Examining the Relationship between Diet and Mental Health in the Caribbean.

The George-Alleyne Chronic Disease Research Centre (GA-CDRC) is a Unit of CAIHR located in Barbados.

Mrs Kristy Ward, Administrative Assistant with Ms Carmen Buran, International Relations Officer at the University of Oradea, Romania. Mrs Ward engaged in discussions on research policy and infrastructure with colleagues at the University of Oradea, Romania in May 2025 through the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme. This collaboration has laid important groundwork for ongoing academic and research partnerships between the two institutions.
