Understanding the difference between what makes the tools, implements, and equipment frequently used in beauty practices single use or reusable is whether such items fall under one of the following two categories:
Porous: observes moisture, suseptible to viruses, bacteria, or spore formation. Another term often used is permeable.
Non-porous: items that are non-permeable or impervious, which reduces the likelihood of cross-contamination and the spending of bacteria, viruses, or infections.
Knowing and practicing to safe and high standards not only make for a safer salon, it builds client confidence.
