We are back to present another series of interesting medical cases;
Today’s case involves an 11-year-old girl diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis type 1. The patient presented with a cystic lesion in the thoracic spinal cord and a lateral spinal curvature (scoliosis) extending across the thoracic and lumbar regions. This curvature had progressed rapidly over the past two years, reaching an angle of approximately 90 degrees and accompanied by a prominent posterior thoracic hump.
Surgery was performed under continuous neurological monitoring, with screw placement utilizing the "free-hand technique." The patient began mobilizing the day after surgery and was discharged three days post-operatively.

تتعلق حالتنا اليوم بطفلة تبلغ من العمر 11 عاماً، وهي مصابة بمرض الورام الليفي العصبي من النوع الأول (Neurofibromatosis type 1). كانت المريضة تعاني من آفة كيسية في الحبل الشوكي الصدري، ومن انحراف جانبي في العمود الفقري (جنف) يمتد للمنطقتين الصدرية والقطنية؛ حيث تطور هذا الانحراف بسرعة ليصل إلى زاوية تبلغ حوالي 90 درجة خلال العامين الماضيين، مصحوباً بحدبة خلفية بارزة في منطقة الصدر.
أُجريت الجراحة تحت المراقبة العصبية المستمرة، وتم تثبيت البراغي باستخدام تقنية "اليد الحرة" (free-hand technique). وقد بدأت المريضة في الحركة في اليوم التالي للجراحة، وغادرت المستشفى بعد ثلاثة أيام من العملية.
